The 2026 Challenge Cup finishes out the inaugural Mount Baker Golf Trail tournament season — two days of best ball competition across two of Whatcom County’s finest courses, with the stunning backdrop of the Pacific Northwest and Mount Baker on the horizon.

Event details

  • Format: 2-player net best ball
  • Prizes: Daily prize pools and a two-day total. Players are also entered into daily Closest to the Pin, Long Drive, and Straight Drive contests
  • Bonus: Grand Prize winner will receive free entry into the 2027 Challenge Cup

Schedule

  • Sat, September 12 — Welcome Party at Shuksan Golf Club beginning at 6 pm. We will have some draw prizes, food, and a beverage for all who attend.
  • Sun, September 13, 9 am shotgun start — Shuksan Golf Club: Includes breakfast biscuit and a box lunch (replay is open to all who are interested; just $45 including golf cart). Let us know in advance to set it up.
  • Mon, September 14, 9 am shotgun start — Sudden Valley Golf Course: Includes box lunch and post-round banquet. We will also have a trophy presentation. Final event prizes will be sent out later that week.

Scoring format

  • Net in each flight – Single low gross winner

Team eligibility

  • Open to any two-player combination
  • Partners may play from different tees (e.g., a senior male and a female can be partners)
  • Handicaps are applied per player
  • Handicap difference between partners may not exceed 10 strokes

Joe Treat and Nathan Fuller won the inaugural 2026 Mount Baker Challenge Cup with a two-day net score of 118 (−26), shooting 59 at both Shuksan and Sudden Valley.
