Sudden Valley Golf Course

Sudden Valley Golf Course

Two Distinct Nines Along Lake Whatcom

Designed by renowned architect Ted Robinson, Sr. and opened in 1970, Sudden Valley Golf Course is a semi-private masterpiece on the Mount Baker Golf Trail. The 6,464-yard, par 72 layout offers something few courses can claim — a genuinely different experience on each nine.

The front nine plays along the scenic shores of Lake Whatcom with open, generous fairways, while the back nine climbs a ridge into narrow, evergreen-fringed holes with smaller, more characterful greens. Water hazards come into play on fourteen holes, and 47 strategically placed bunkers demand finesse and accuracy throughout. Rated 71.3 with a 128 slope, Sudden Valley delivers spectacular lake and forest views at every turn.
